Abstract

Contextualization: This article presents aspects of Education 4.0 with emphasis on the lack of legal regulation on the subject in the Brazilian scenario and its possible implications for the quality of education.

Objective: The aim is to identify possible challenges of Education 4.0 regarding the quality standard of education provided for in the Constitution.

Method: Based on exploratory research, using an inductive method and bibliographic research technique. To this end, a brief historical contextualization of the subject is presented sequentially; the existence of references to digital transformations in the main federal legislations in the educational field, such as the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education, the Common National Curricular Base and the National Education Plan, is analyzed; the constitutional guarantee of a quality standard of education and its relationship with preexisting challenges in the Brazilian educational context are conceptualized.

Results: The absence of national guidelines on Education 4.0, the insufficiency of technological infrastructure and the lack of training of adequately prepared teachers are identified.

Conclusions: In conclusion, the lack of national guidelines on the implementation of concepts and techniques related to Education 4.0, as well as insufficient investment in technological infrastructure and teacher training, hinders its potential in the education of students in Brazil.
