History of the periodical
The Journal of Management Analysis and Technologies (ReGeA) was created in 2008 as part of the Business Administration program, under the coordination of Prof. Eleazar de Castro, who was responsible for publishing two editions until 2012. Since its inception, registered with ISSN 1984-7297 [print], the journal was conceived with the clear purpose of establishing itself as a channel for the dissemination of scientific production, initially focused on the areas of Business Administration and Accounting Sciences.
In 2013, under the aegis of the Dean of Planning, led by Prof. Estevão Rocha, the Editorial Policy Committee was established, a milestone in the process of institutional consolidation of the journal. The editorial body now consists of the Editorial Board, the Scientific Editor, Prof. Arnaldo Coelho (University of Coimbra – Portugal), responsible for general scientific guidance, and the Executive Editor, Prof. Laodicéia Weersma, responsible for editorial management and strategic development of the journal, including expanding its scope, improving editorial guidelines, and strengthening the institution.
Regarding frequency, from 2013 to 2018, the journal maintained a biannual schedule, with two issues published each year. From 2019 to 2025, it switched to a quarterly publication schedule, with three issues per year, consolidating the transition to electronic format (e-ISSN 2359-618X), which increased its visibility and marked the beginning of its internationalization process. Associated with these actions, and throughout the editorial trajectory, the journal's management has acted systematically to ensure the timeliness of publications, promote inclusion in relevant directories, and advance indexing in national and international databases.
In line with contemporary scientific transformations and emerging technological demands, in 2025, ReGeA reaffirms its commitment to excellence, integrity, and relevance in scientific communication. In this evolutionary movement, the journal will adopt the name Revista Gestão em Análise e Tecnologias (Journal of Management Analysis and Technologies), expanding its scope to multiple domains of knowledge in the areas of management, technology, and innovation in public and private institutions, covering, among others: strategic and entrepreneurial management; financial and accounting management aligned with corporate governance; information management; systems development and digital transformation, with an emphasis on regenerative artificial intelligence and related topics; and production engineering, involving industrial operations, logistics, supply chains, and sustainability.
This editorial repositioning is based on the understanding that contemporary technologies are structuring vectors of scientific production and innovation, as they enhance human capacities for creation, organization, and production in an ethical and sustainable manner within the dynamic context of socioeconomic ecosystems.
As a result of this process of editorial maturity, starting in 2026, the journal will adopt a continuous flow publication model, aligning itself with international best practices in scientific communication and increasing the speed of knowledge dissemination. In addition, the open access policy will remain in place, with no fees charged for the submission, processing, or publication of manuscripts, reinforcing the institutional commitment to the democratization of knowledge, scientific inclusion, and academic cooperation.
