THE CASE OF FREE WALKING TOUR FORTALEZA FOR SOLIDARITY TOURISM AND HERITAGE EDUCATION

Abstract

This article was developed to verify the relevance of the Free Walking Tour Fortaleza service as a way to encourage heritage education for visitors and residents and for access to culture through solidarity tourism. To this end, the work seeks references in the bibliography of the collaborative economy, solidarity tourism, urban space and the Free Walking Tour model, and contextualizes the situation of tourism in Fortaleza and the Free Walking Tour Fortaleza. Next, the synthesized data obtained from a survey conducted with 61 users of the service who have enjoyed the activity between December 2018 and March 2020 are presented. Finally, the results were interpreted and analyzed to evaluate the adequacy of the service method in relation to the established objectives.
