The teaching of Theory and History of Architecture and Urbanism faces challenges related to the understanding of space and the abstract nature of content when based exclusively on conventional theoretical approaches. This article presents a teaching experience report developed in the course Theory and History of Architecture and Urbanism I at Universidade Christus (Unichristus), focusing on the use of physical models and sketches as pedagogical resources. The study analyzes the potential of architectural models—traditionally associated with design studios—to mediate historical, spatial, and constructive learning in architectural education. The research adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach, grounded in the observation of teaching practice and the analysis of works produced by second-semester architecture students. The results indicate advances in three-dimensional perception, increased student engagement, and a strengthening of the articulation between theory and practice, reaffirming the role of History courses in the education of architects and urban planners.
